What this website collects.
The short version: visitor numbers, nothing that identifies you, and whatever you choose to send me.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics so that I can see whether anyone is actually reading it. It records which pages are visited and roughly for how long, the general area a visit came from (city or region, worked out from your IP address), the type of device and browser, and which link or search brought you here. It uses a cookie to do this.
None of that tells me who you are, and I make no attempt to find out. I look at it in aggregate: how many people came this week, and which pages they read.
If you email or call me
I keep what you send (your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you write) so that I can reply, and so that I have a record of the conversation if we end up working together. I won't pass it on to anyone else, and I won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing without your explicit permission.
Turning analytics off
If you'd rather not be counted, your browser's privacy settings will block the cookie, and Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Analytics on every site. This site works exactly the same either way.
Client and firm information
This section covers the website only. Anything to do with an actual engagement, meaning your firm's documents, systems, and data, is governed by the agreement we sign rather than by this page. That work happens inside your firm's own accounts and infrastructure, and none of it is held here.
Asking what I hold
Canadian privacy law gives you the right to ask what personal information an organization holds about you, to see it, and to ask for it to be corrected. I'm the person accountable for that here, so email info@umanggupta.ca and I'll answer.
