I'm Umang Gupta, a Toronto-based consultant helping Canadian law firms adopt AI properly. I've been working hands-on with AI for several years — building and deploying real systems for real teams — on foundations that go back a decade, to when I started out building adaptive learning software.

Most of those ten years were spent in the education sector, where I've been an educator as much as an operator. That left me with a conviction about technology adoption: the setup is the easy half. Firms get new software installed, sit through a demo, and then quietly struggle with it for years — because nobody stayed to teach, adapt the workflows, and hand-hold through the awkward early months. It's the piece almost everyone misses, and it's the piece I refuse to skip.

The engineering and the strategy are both essential too — and I bring both: I implement working systems myself, train the people who use them, and stay accountable for whether they actually get used.
